Nitro's got your back
Underneath slick paint and chiselled steel are systems and technologies such as ESC, ABS and front side-curtain air bags that are ready to react if duty calls.
Electronic Stability Control
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)(1) is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicle during extreme steering manoeuvres. ESC senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.
Anti-lock Braking System
The four-wheel-disc, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist helps prevent wheel lockup under extreme braking or slippery conditions, resulting in shorter stopping distances and improved control. Tough and rugged calipers clamp down on discs made from high-carbon damped iron for quiet, fade-free stopping power.

Air Bag Protection
Standard supplemental side-curtain air bags(2) with roll-sensing technology deploy from the headliner to provide side-impact protection to outboard occupants. Technology advancements allow the side-curtain air bags to remain deployed longer in the event of a rollover.

ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System(4)
ParkSense gives you some added insight before you begin to reverse. You’ll have a better determination of your distance from other objects while driving in reverse, thanks to four rear fascia mounted sensors that emit ultrasonic sound waves to a distance of up to 1.8 metres and an audible warning that increases in frequency as objects get closer.

Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC)
Nitro SXT comes standard with an Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC) that uses steering wheel-mounted controls to access important information, including individual tyre pressures, digital compass, outside temperature, trip computer, personal display settings, audio modes and system status messages. Now all your vehicle information is at your finger tips.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring Display (TPM)
This system helps keep an eye on safe and proper tyre pressure. An alert comes through the Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC) or a warning light (on Nitro SX) when low tyre pressure is detected.
