All Journey models feature standard next-generation multi-stage driver and front-passenger air bags(1), supplemental front seat-mounted side air bags(1), and supplemental side-impact inflatable curtain air bags(1) for all three rows - that's six airbags of protection in total.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Electronic Stability Control(2) with Brake Assist is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering manoeuvres. ESC senses when a vehicle is starting to spin or plow, and attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
The four-wheel-disc ABS system helps prevent wheel lockup under extreme braking or slippery conditions, resulting in shorter stopping distances and improved control. Tough and rugged calipers clamp down on discs made from high-carbon damped iron for quiet, fade-free stopping power.

Active head Restraints
A standard, simple and effective safety feature that can help reduce the severity of neck injuries. In the event of a rear end collision, active head restraints(3) automatically react and move up and forward to help provide protection.

Structural Strength
Journey's unitised upper body forms a structural safety cage to help provide protection in the event of a collision by managing and controlling energy.
The front structure is composed of multiple crush zones that undergo a coordinated and optimised sequence of events to help absorb energy. Plus, side impact beams in the front and rear doors help to provide occupant protection.
Suspension
Journey is loaded with independent front suspension with MacPherson struts in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear assuring an excellent driving experience.

Theft Deterrents
Let's face it. Journey has a lot going for it, and it gets a lot of attention. That's why state-of-the-art theft deterrents come standard. Operating at a special frequency, the Sentry Key® theft deterrent system will foil virtually all thieves because the engine will not start without the properly encoded key.
The vehicle theft security alarm can lower your insurance premium. Insurance companies like the fact that the system protects from theft and vandalism by monitoring doors and liftgate for unauthorised entry. The alarm sounds by blowing the horn and flashing the signal lamps.

All-speed Traction Control (ASTC)
All-speed Traction Control reduces engine power, applies the brakes to spinning wheels and transfers torque to the appropriate wheel when slippage is detected.
Brake Assist automatically increases braking pressure to its maximum force during emergency braking situations.
Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) senses when a rollover may occur and applies braking force to the correct wheels to reduce the likelihood of such an event.

Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)
Standard on Journey, EVIC lets you view personal settings, compass reading, outside temperature, average fuel economy, distance to empty and elapsed trip time.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
Maintaining accurate tyre pressure is not only good for the life of your tyres, but can help increase your cars fuel efficiency. An illuminated warning light on Journey's instrument panel notifies the driver when a discrepancy in tyre pressure is detected.
